State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating two crashes along SR903 in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Both occurred on Sunday, Jan. 12.

Troopers said Maryla Stasiewicz, 48, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 2001 Lincoln LS northbound about 9:15 p.m. when she traveled over a slippery spot on the road, which caused her to lose control. The car slid into an embankment along the southbound side and came to rest facing south.Stasiewicz complained of neck pain and was transported to the Lehighton Hospital by Lehighton ambulance.The second crash occurred earlier, at 7:32 p.m., as Hasshan M. Batts, 38, of Allentown, was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 truck northbound. Troopers said Batts swerved to the left and his truck struck an embankment along the southbound side of the road. The truck rode up the embankment and overturned before coming to rest on the road in the northbound lane.Batts was not injured.
