DUI arrests reported

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on three driving under the influence arrests made by officers.

On Dec. 17 about 7:52 p.m. police were called to Route 423, near Route 196, for a report of an intoxicated driver who drove off the road and whose vehicle was stuck in snow. Officers located the vehicle and identified the driver as Christopher M. Smith, 38, of Tobyhanna.He was found to be under the influence and taken for a blood test. The test results indicated a .25BAC. Additionally, Smith's driver's license was already under suspension for DUI. He was charge with DUI, driving under suspension-DUI related, and driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.On Dec. 22 about 2:02 p.m. police were dispatched to Route 940 eastbound for a possible intoxicated driver. The caller said the driver had pulled into the lot at the Perkins' restaurant in Mount Pocono.Police observed a vehicle in the parking lot and found the driver passed out behind the wheel. The driver was awoken and identified as Lisa Hobart, 48, of Pocono Summit.Hobart was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. She was then placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and submitted to a blood test. The result was .29BAC.Police also said a 7-year-old child was found inside the vehicle. The child was later released to the custody of the father.On Jan. 1 about 2:48 a.m. police observed a vehicle being driven erratically along Route 196 at Carriage Square, in Coolbaugh Township. A vehicle stop was made and the driver identified as Nancy Rivera, 40, of Tobyhanna.She was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. She was taken to Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. Police added that Rivera was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana.Charges pending include DUI and possession of a controlled substance.
