Two persons sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 3:05 p.m. Dec. 18 at the intersection of Route 903 and Fifth Street in Jim Thorpe.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said Megan N. Schlenner, 17, of Jim Thorpe, and Michelangelo S. Bokeko, 39, of Tamaqua, the drivers of the vehicles, were hurt but did not require EMS transports.Police said the incident happened when Schlenner, driving a 2003 Oldsmobile Alero, was stopped at a stop sign on the westbound lane of East Fifth Street at the intersection with Route 903 and pulled out to cross the road without yielding the right of way to an oncoming 2003 Ford Explorer operated by Bokeko, colliding with it as it traveled south on Route. 903 at the time.
