No one was hurt when snow and ice flew off a vehicle and struck another vehicle behind it at 1:10 p.m. Dec. 17 on Route 443 in Lehighton.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said a 2001 Mack CH Series operated by Adam B. Ellis, 39, of Elizabeth, N.J., was northbound on Route 443, and a 2013 Ford Interceptor driven by Robert G. Hontz, 34, of Lehighton, was traveling behind it. Police said as the two vehicles continued on Route 209, the snow and ice flew off the top of the Mack, striking the front bumper of the Hontz vehicle in the area of Forge and Allen streets in Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East (Route 209).
