David Mulligan, 51, of Kunkletown, was arrested by state police at the Lehighton barracks on a charge of reckless endangerment after he fired gunshots in the area of five people while hunting at 5:03 p.m. Dec. 4 in a cornfield in Eldred Township.
Police said Mulligan told them he did not see or hear anyone yelling.Five victims, Jay Borger, 39, Jeff Borger, 61, and Ross Borger, 36, all of Kunkletown, Mark Borger, 33, of Quakertown, and Chris Smale, 56, of Coopersburg, told police they were hunting in a field and heard gunshots coming toward them. Police said the victims tried to yell to the suspect that they were in the area, but the shots continued toward them, hitting trees above the victims' heads.
