School accepts donations to help Gilbert fire victims

A family lost everything last Wednesday when a fire destroyed their home on Center Road, Gilbert. No one was home at the time.

The American Red Cross placed the family at the Hampton Inn, Lehighton until other living arrangements could be made.John Gress, Pleasant Valley High School's principal, reported at the PVSD school board meeting Thursday night, that the district immediately put out a request for donations for the family of six.Two of the children are in the high school and one is a PVI student."We are collecting monetary donations, gift cards, linens/towels/blankets, outerwear and clothing," Gress said. "Already we raised $800 to give, which is a big help immediately. Anything you can donate would be a help to this PV Family in need."The mother was able to pick up what had already been collected Thursday.Here is a list of clothing sizes for the family members. Any new or used will be greatly appreciated.*2 year old boy - size 2T clothing; size 7 shoes; size 4 Luvs diapers*4th grade girl - size 7 slim pants; size shirts; size 1 shoes*9th grade boy - size 16 pants; med/lg shirts; size 9 shoes*10th grade girl - petite 6/7 pants; sm/med shirts; size 6 shoes*Mother - size 16 pants; size lg/xlg shirts; size 8 shoes*Mother's fiance - size 36-38 pants; size 2XL shirts; size 12 shoesAnything you could possibly donate will be greatly appreciated.
