Blakeslee driver facing charges

A Blakeslee driver is facing multiple charges following an incident in Nesquehoninng.

Borough police have charged Brian Patrick Marshall, 26, of Box 1363, with driving under the influence (DUI) of a controlled substance (two counts), fleeing or attempting to elude police (a felony three), altered, forged or counterfeit documents and plates, driving while operating privilege is suspended or revoked, operation of a vehicle without official certificate of inspection, traffic control signals, careless driving, unauthorized transfer or use of registration, operating a vehicle without financial responsibility, and violation of vehicle equipment standards.Police said the incident began about 4:01 p.m. on Oct. 9 when Officer Dane O'Brien was on patrol in the 300 block of W. Catawissa St. and noticed a white in color car going in the opposite direction with illegal tinted rear taillight covers. As O'Brien began to turn around he noticed the other vehicle accelerate.The vehicle turned onto Ratcliff Street where Officer Steven Homanko observed the driver not stop for two stop signs on W. Mill St. He activated his emergency lights and made a traffic stop at Allen St. and Willow Ave.Marshall was identified as the driver. He was also found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and could not produce proper and legal documentation. He was placed under arrest and transported to St. Luke's Hospital, Coaldale, for a blood drawn.Police also learned his license was under suspension and there were two warrants for his arrest - one each out of Lehigh and Schuylkill counties.He was placed in the county prison on the two outstanding warrants. He also admitted fleeing from police because of the warrants.The blood test results showed the presence of amphetamine, methamphetamine, benzoyleogonine, and morphine.
