Tamaqua driver facing DUI count

A Tamaqua driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said Daniel Anthony Palmer, 24, was observed operating a vehicle and stopped along Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township, about 3:02 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8.Troopers said Palmer showed signs of intoxication and field sobriety tests were administered. He was then arrested and transported to the Lehigh County Central Booking Center for a blood test.The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.Troopers also reported the arrest of David Wilson, 42, of Gilbertsville, for DUI. He was stopped for a traffic violation about 12:31 a.m. on Sunday along SR100, north of Buckeye Rd., in Macungie. He showed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. He was taken to the central booking center for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
