Schuylkill crashes

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways.

An icy road was blamed for a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 7:04 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, along Glenworth Road, in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Thomas J. Cromyak, 44, of Cumbola, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala southbound when the vehicle hit an icy patch causing the car to slide off the southbound lane and into a utility pole along the berm. Cromyak sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment. The car sustained significant damages and was towed from the scene, troopers said.A two-vehicle crash was reported about 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, along SR901 (Gordon Nagle Trail), in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Kassandra H. Kopinetz, 20, of Auburn, was operating a Ford Focus eastbound and attempting a left turn onto Cressona Road, and turned into the path of a 2003 Subaru Legacy driven by Lindsi A. Miller, 24, of Pine Grove, who was westbound.The two vehicles collided almost head-on. Both drivers were injured and taken to the SMC-S for treatment. Damages were termed heavy to the front end of both vehicles, which were towed from the scene.A one-vehicle crash occurred about 12:33 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28, along SR901. Harold J. Delaney, 72, of Reading, was driving a 2010 Subaru Legacy westbound when he swerved to miss a small dead animal on the road and lost control of the vehicle. The Legacy crossed the eastbound lane and struck a tree in a yard along the berm of the eastbound lane. Delaney was not injured with damages moderate to the Legacy, which was towed from the scene.Troopers cited Delaney for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
