Santa's Winterfest open for family fun

With its life-size Christmas characters and holiday activities, it's a must-see attraction.

Welcome to the fun factory that is Santa's Winterfest, located in the fairgrounds at Country Junction in Lehighton.Opened last weekend, Santa's Winterfest will continue to run weekends only, through Dec. 22. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.Visitors will see such featured attractions as Santa's Festival, as well as Twinkletown.Special packages include the Kids Wristband for $10, which includes a Scavenger Hunt, Coloring Contest (winner every weekend), Cookie Decorating, Ornament Decorating, Letter to Santa, Story Time with Mrs. Claus, Reindeer games with Buddy the Elf, Train Ride, Twinkle Town, and picture opportunities with Frosty and Mrs. Claus.There's also the Adult Wristband for $4, which includes Story time with Mrs. Claus, Train Ride, and Twinkle Town.In addition, children can have Pictures with Santa for $8 sitting, a Breakfast Buffet with Santa, every Saturday and Sunday from 9-10:30 a.m. (must make reservations, $6.99 for kids, $9.99 for adults).Santa's Winterfest is operated by Dean and Angie Moyer, owners of Waldorf Entertainment, which also presents the Haunting at the Waldorf Hotel during the Halloween season."The kids are loving it," Angie said. "This coming weekend should be insane."Angie said Santa's Winterfest has something for everyone."We were looking for something for families to do," she said.
