A Carbon County driver was injured in a two-vehicle crash that occurred about 3:23 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, at the intersection of SR100 and Schantz Roadi in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County.

Township police said Nicole Mendez, 24, of Palmerton, was driving a 2012 Dodge Caliber eastbound on Schantz Road and was crossing straight across the intersection when her vehicle was struck by a 2011 International Prostar truck operated by Kevin Wix, 44, of Harrington, Del., who was northbound on 100.Both drivers claimed they had the green light, police said.Mendez sustained a knee injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for treatment. Wix was not injured. Damages were severe to the rear of the Caliber and moderate to the front of the truck.Police ask anyone who witnessed this crash to call them at 484-661-5911, ext. 351.
