The ninth annual Christmas in the Country event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8, at Country Inn and Suites, Route 209, in Franklin Township.

Everyone is invited to drop off a new unwrapped toy for the toy drive or canned goods for the food drive.There will be numerous activities taking place throughout the day, as well as complimentary cookies, punch and coffee. Santa will visit during the event.All proceeds benefit the Blue Ridge Food and Toy Drive, coordinated by the Carbon Mountaineer Marine Corps League Detachment 996. All proceeds stay within Carbon County.
