A Carbon County driver was among five involved in a rear-end type crash that occurred about 4:56 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, along Interstate 78, between the on-ramp and SR100 in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville said vehicles operated by Kevin B. Krick, 49, of Bernville, 1997 Pontiac Grand Am; Philip D. Pope, 51, of Stroudsburg, 2009 Audi A4; Ryan M. Mucka, 23, of Lehighton, 2003 Subaru Impreza; and James E. Burke, 48, of Northampton, 2001 Mack truck, were all stopped in traffic eastbound when Anatoliy Hladich, 50, of Philadelphia, driving a 2007 Freightliner tractor, failed to stop in time caused a chain-reaction crash involving all five vehicles.Krick sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention. No one else was injured.Troopers cited Hladich for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
