Weissport Council tables budget, adoption of handicap ordinance

Weissport Council did not discuss the budget, nor did it adopt the Quality of Life and Handicap ordinance, although both items were listed on the agenda.

Council members however, heard a presentation by Michael Starr, of the Bureau of Supplies, on how to purchase surplus federal property that may save the borough money when items are needed.Starr said that the items for sale are sold at pennies on the dollar. He said that the program offers a way for the borough to purchase furniture, vehicles and other items which are in nearly new condition and are available from the federal government. He explained how council could extend a "wish list" of items that are needed or view items presently available.Council tabled discussing the budget and adoption of the ordinance.
