A 40-year-old Slatington resident was the victim of an assault.

State police at Fogelsville said the victim, who they did not identify, was involved in a verbal argument with Allen Charles Gruber, 42, of New Tripoli, on Nov. 16 in the 7000 block of Decatur St., in Lynn Township, Lehigh County.During the altercation Gruber allegedly threw a metal hammer at the victim causing an abrasion of his leg.Gruber was taken into custody and charged with simple assault, harassment, and criminal mischief, troopers said.
