Water tank project almost complete in Nesquehoning

Members of the Nesquehoning Water Authority learned that the ongoing water tank project is now over 90 percent complete from Michael J. Peleshak, project manager for Alfred Benesch & Co.

Assembly of the storage tank itself is complete and the tank has passed a BAC-T test.Power was scheduled to be tied in to the area by PPL Tuesday, which will allow further testing to assure that all systems are fully operational.During last month's meeting there was some discussion as to the size of tank that would be purchased to operate the generator in the event of a power outage.It was determined that two, 250-gallon tanks would be utilized and buried beneath the surface to avoid vapor lock.Authority members also approved application for payment number seven in the amount of $441,447.14.In other business, authority members voted to advertise for chemical bids.
