One injured in Palmerton crash

One person was injured during a two-car crash that occurred Thursday morning in front of a funeral home in Palmerton.

Palmerton Police Department said the accident occurred at around 10:20 a.m. in the 100 block of Delaware Avenue when a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country minivan operated by Stephen Becker, 35, of Lansford, was traveling eastbound when it attempted to turn left into the T.K. Thomas Funeral Home, at which time it turned into a 2005 GMC pickup truck operated by Steven Hughart, 57, of Kunkletown.A passenger in the minivan, Colleen Wentz, 34, of Madison Township, was taken by ambulance to Palmerton Hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown.Both vehicles were disabled and had to be towed from the scene.Palmerton Ambulance and the Palmerton Fire Department assisted at the scene.The incident remains under investigation.
