Deer blamedin Schuylkill crash

A deer entering the roadway was blamed for a crash that occurred about 6:25 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, along SR61 in Deer Lake borough, Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Kathleen D. Rogers, 62, of Ashland, was operating a 2009 GMC Envoy northbound in a single lane construction zone when the deer entered the road in front of her. She swerved to the left to avoid the animal and in the process, the Envoy impacted with a concrete barrier. After impact the Envoy continued down a hill and Rogers was able to pull onto the east berm.Rogers was not injured but the Envoy had to be towed from the scene.
