LALLC celebrate Community Organization Night with donations

Lehighton Area Lioness Lions held its Community Organization Night by presenting donations to various organizations at the Carbon County Training Institute.

Donations were presented to the Lehighton Police Department, Lehighton Fire Department, Lehighton Memorial Library, Lehighton Pool Pals and Pa. Breast Cancer Coalition.Presenters were members Sue Anthony, secretary Gerry Andrews, Rose Galloway, Barbara Christopher and Lisa Whitehead, immediate past president.Accepting the donations were the following representatives, Matt Bender, Lehighton Police Department, police officer; Steven Anthony, firefighter with Lehighton Fire Department; Becky Wannamaker, Lehighton Area Memorial Library; Lyle Christopher, Lehighton Pool Pals; and Cheryl Delsite, a volunteer with the Pa. Breast Cancer Coalition.The Pa. Breast Cancer Coalition,received $500.The others received $100."The Lehighton Fire Department does an awesome job," Andrews said, as she presented the check to Steve Anthony."We present this check to the library because we will always need to read," said Galloway to Wannamaker.The funds were raised at the club's annual Pink Light Walk.
