Penn State Extension Master Gardeners have logged hundreds of hours in the program. They include, front l-r, Julie Foley, 500 hours and five years; Maryann Serafini, 500 hours; and l-r, Slate Altenburg, 1,000 hours; Diane Giffles, 250 hours; and John Kupec, 500 hours. Master gardeners were also recognized for creating the table centerpieces for the annual awards banquet held Thursday night at the Mahoning Valley Ambulance building. The event was sponsored by the Carbon County Conservation District, Carbon County Environmental Education Center, Natural Resource Center, Penn State Extension - Carbon County, and USDA Farm Service Agency.
