November 6, 1942 Tommy Martin scores a pair of touchdowns, one on a punt return, to help Coaldale gain a 20-12 victory over Saint Clair. After a three-and-out on the game's first possession, Martin receives a punt and returns it 55 yards for the opening score. In the third frame, Martin's 29-yard scamper sets up a go-ahead seven-yard TD pass from Eddie Palkovich to Joe Gursky. Martin gives the Tigers some insurance in the final period when he reaches the end zone on an 18-yard run.
