Blue Mountain Health System will offer a Diabetes Health Fair, a free community event, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at the Palmerton Hospital Campus, 135 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton.

This event is open to anyone interested in learning more about diabetes and ways to stay healthy with diabetes. In addition to vendors with diabetes products and samples, there will be blood sugar screenings and educational seminars on glucometers, nutrition and foot care. Those attending can bring their glucometers and test strips for the laboratory to check by comparing the test result to the laboratory result. Those who choose to have their glucometers tested must be prepared to test their blood sugar levels at the time of the blood draw.The cafeteria will be open for those who choose to have lunch there.For more information on the diabetes health fair, or to register, call 610-377-7070.
