SH church hosts Sunday school

St. Paul's Lutheran Church's Sunday School program resumed in September with 17 children ranging from ages 4 and up attending the hourlong class at the Summit Hill church.

"We had a very successful start a few weeks ago. (It's good to see) smiles on the young faces reflecting the excitement and anticipation for the new season," said leader Donna Maynard."They have had some interesting questions and comments and it's hard to decide who enjoys the classes more, the children or their teachers."As one enters the church on Sunday morning, they can hear the excited voices and laughter echoing through the basement.Maynard says there are several volunteer teachers who instruct on a rotating schedule giving children insights into the Bible through lessons and stories and teachings about the people and events that are recorded there. There are also arts and crafts projects related to the lessons.Classes take place from 9-10 a.m. each week until June and are open to children of all denominations throughout the community. Maynard says anyone can join. For more information or questions, please contact the church at 570-645-3469.
