A Lansford man who police say operated a methamphetamine lab in Lansford had a preliminary hearing scheduled Wednesday, but waived the charges to Carbon County Court.

Anthony William Hill, 25, remains free on bail.The hearing was scheduled before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford.On Sept. 25, Hill was charged by Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Bureau of Narcotics, with operating a methamphetamine lab and illegal dumping of methamphetamine waste, possession of liquified ammonia gas, possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance.Some of the charges stem from a raid on Hill's apartment on West Ridge Street in Lansford on Sept. 5 by agents from the attorney general's office and the Lansford Police Department.Obtained during a search of the apartment, according to the affidavit, were:• Several needles, spoons, smoking pipes, and other paraphernalia; two black digital scales; a container of Morton iodized salt; and three Energizer lithium batteries from Hill's bedroom.• Two 32-ounce cans of Sunnyside naphtha from the hallway.• A large, black trash bag found inside Hill's bedroom closet containing various items, including lighter fluid, coffee filter containing stripped pieces of lithium batteries, zip-locked bag of suspected lithium strips, several coffee filters with white residue, and an empty Equate cold pack.The affidavit states that Hill admitted to allowing meth to be produced inside his residence and claimed that the residue from meth manufactured in his apartment on Aug. 11 could be found inside his bedroom closet.Prior to this, on Aug. 28, an undercover agent allegedly purchased methamphetamine from Hill for $35.Again on Sept. 5, an agent purchased meth for $90 from Hill.
