Friday is the deadline to adopt a tree to decorate as part of Palmerton's Christmas in the Park program.

That's also the cutoff point for those who would like to set up a vendor, where the cost is $25 for a space.Anyone who would like to adopt a tree, or set up a vendor, may call 610-737-4503.There is no set price for those who wish to 'adopt' a tree to decorate as part of the program. Donations will go toward the new holiday lights in the borough.The plan is to have decorated trees from various members of the community in time for the program, which will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in the borough park.The trees will line the walkways of the park, and be lit and decorated by the sponsor in time for the event. Each tree will be unique, and will have the sponsor noted on the plaque by their tree.The trees will remain up through the holiday season for all to enjoy.Sunday, Dec. 1, is the date to set up and decorate the trees, while Friday, Dec. 6, is the last day to decorate them.The Palmerton Holiday Lighting Committee plans to decorate the park with new lights in time for Christmas.
