State police at the Frackville barracks conducted a regulatory traffic safety checkpoint on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 3:30-4:40 p.m. The checkpoint was conducted along SR54 in the area of Yatesville Road, in Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers reported about 120 vehicles were encountered during the course of the checkpoint. A total of 14 traffic citations were issued including eight for driving without or having a suspended license and were either issued a citation or one will be filed with District Judge Anthony J. Kilker of Shenandoah.Troopers also said 35 warnings were issued for a variety of traffic-related offenses including three for child safety seat offenses in which the driver was cited for one violation and subsequently obtained three more child safety seats before being permitted to drive their vehicles from the location.One unregistered vehicle was found and towed from the scene.
