Break-in, theft incidents probed

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a burglary and two incidents of retail theft at Schuylkill County locations.

The break-in occurred at the Auburn Memorial Park, in the borough of Auburn. Forced entry was made to an enclosed pavilion by prying open a wooden window panel. Once inside the criminals cut several electrical wires. They also cut and removed electrical wiring from a second open pavilion building.The incident occurred sometime between 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, and 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.A retail theft incident was reported at Boscov's Department store in the Fairlane Village Mall, in Norwegian Township. A white male with a full beard, and wearing a camo cap, entered the store on Wednesday and removed a space heater, exiting the store through the garden center area. The incident occurred between 5:45 and 8 p.m.A retail theft incident was reported at the Turkey Hill Market, located at 1565 Bunting St., Norwegian Township. An individual pumped $20.65 worth of gasoline into his dark colored sport utility vehicle then fled without paying for it. The incident occurred about 2:53 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24.
