How to control invasive plants with goats

Schuylkill County Conservancy, Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Bureau of Forestry is presenting a forestry presentation on "Goats in the Woods," from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 at the Schuylkill County Agricultural Center, 1202 Ag Center Drive, Pottsville.

The program will be presented by Sandra Kay Miller, owner of Painted Hand Farm in Cumberland County. Miller has over 12 years of experience working with goats in controlling invasive plants, including multiple fencing systems, transportation, animal health and husbandry as well as the marketing side.Those attending the seminar will learn how to use goats to control unwanted vegetation in their woodlands.Attendance is free, and advanced registration is not required.More information is available from Frank P.
