The Democratic Party of Carbon County held its annual fall dinner Sunday night at the Tresckow Fire Company hall, where Banks Township resident Joseph Colecio, second from right, was recognized for more than 50 years of service to the party. Also honored was Banks Township Tax Collector Irene Makowiec, who was unable to attend. She is completing her 40th year of service in the township. With Colecio are, from left, Chairman Billy O'Gurek Jr., Judy Moon, register of wills who is seeking re-election in November, Joseph Clark, executive committee member who was the master of ceremonies, and Sen. John Yudichak, who addressed the party members on the importance of election participation.
