The much discussed civil suit brought against the County of Carbon by county auditors Ray Kistler, John Herbert and Thomas Kiggings has been discontinued, settled and satisfied following a conference recently of all factors involved.

Scheduled for hearing next week when the October term of Civil Court convenes, the litigation was eliminated from the court agenda by reason of compromise settlement reached today. The commisioners previously refused payment on the 1942 and 1943 audits, stating that the amount provided in the budget for services of auditors had become exhausted.Checks were made out in the following amounts: $2,978.71 from county funds and $314.71 from County Institution District funds. The county auditors will receive almost the amount sued for except a $500 compromise they agreed to.
