The Palmerton Food Pantry will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. The food pantry is located at St. John's Lutheran Church, Fireline Road, Palmerton. For information, call 610-826-4335.Al-Anon Family GroupCourage to Change Al-Anon Family Group will meet from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton.This is an anonymous fellowship offering hope for families and friends of alcoholics, past or present, whether they are still drinking or not. The group meets every Thursday.Third Monday Book ClubThe Third Monday Book Club will meet from noon until 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 21, at the Palmerton Area Library. New members are welcome. The group will discuss "Defending Jacob" by William Landy.
