Crashes probed

State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers.

A one-vehicle crash was reported at 9:50 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, on the on ramp to SR248 eastbound in Palmerton. Gregory Paul Kovach, 62, of 207 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, lost control of his pickup truck and skidded out of control. The truck skidded down an embankment on the right side of the road and rolled over.Kovach and his passenger, Carol L. Kovach, 64, were injured and treated at the Palmerton hospital, troopers said.A crash was reported at 3:58 p.m. Thursday along Dotters Corner Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Maricatherine M. Garr, 31, of Kunkletown, was eastbound operating a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu and attempting to negotiate a left curve in the road when she lost control on the wet roadway.The car crossed the center line and began to slide counter-clockwise onto the south berm where the passenger side front end impacted with a tree.Garr was not injured. She was cited for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
