Rachel Moon, daughter of Dave and Cathy Moon, Weatherly, has been named Senior of the Month for September at Weatherly Area High School.

Rachel serves as captain of the girls' varsity soccer team, and is a member of the Weatherly Area High School's chapter of the National Honor Society. She is involved in yearbook, SPARC, Teens Against Tobacco Use, the Health Careers Club, and Dual Enrollment.In the community, Rachel volunteers her time with the Weatherly Youth Soccer League, the Black Diamond Basketball Tournament, the Cornell Bright Futures Charity Golf Tournament, and the Hazleton Area Library Summer Reading Program. Rachel has also participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer's, has organized the Head Start Christmas party, and has volunteered at a local pet Adopt-a-Thon.Additionally, Rachel has been involved in Junior Leadership, Partners in Education, the Computer Fair, and various math competitions. Rachel is employed as a cashier at Giant Food Stores in Hazleton.
