Motorcyclist facing DUI charge

A Carbon County motorcyclist is facing a driving under the influence (DUI) charge following an incident in Jim Thorpe.

Borough police were dispatched to an area near the entrance to Mauch Chunk Lake about 1:34 p.m. on July 28 for a report of a intoxicated male. On scene officers were informed by two witnesses that a intoxicated male crashed his motorcycle and fled into the nearby woods.Police entered the woods and found Paul Zuzo, 43, of 102 E. White Bear Drive, Summit Hill. Zuzo displayed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. He refused to submit to a blood test.Zuzo was taken to the Lehighton hospital after complaining of a ankle injury. A records check showed Zuzo's license was under suspension-DUI related.Police said Zuzo has been charged with DUI, driving under suspension-DUI related, accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property, immediate notice of accident to police, careless driving, and registration and certificate of title required.
