The Palmerton Area Democratic Club will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 7 p.m. at the Fireline Hotel, Bowmanstown. The featured speaker will be Pennsylvania State Senator John Yudichak who is coming to say, "Welcome, Palmerton, to PA's 14th senatorial District."

Currently, Palmerton is in the 29th senatorial District served by State Senator David Argall. When redistricting for the Pennsylvania Legislature officially takes effect on January 1, 2014, Palmerton will be included in the 14th senatorial District served by Senator Yudichak. The new 14th senatorial District will include all of Carbon County and parts of Luzerne County as well."At the Carbon County Fair, Senator Yudichak said he would be happy to address our Palmerton Club and he's keeping his word," said PADC President, Sarina Berlow. "This will be a great opportunity to get to know our new PA Senator and share any concerns, issues or ideas we would like him to present to the legislature on our behalf come January."PADC Vice President, Sandi Peters reminds those attending, "Remember to bring canned goods to donate."The PADC continues its support of the Food Bank run by the Community Action Council of Palmerton Area Churches (CACPAC) which has experienced an increased demand by local people in need of food to get through the month.The area covered by the Club includes Palmerton, Bowmanstown, Towamensing Township and Lower Towamensing Township. Meetings are monthly, the second Tuesday of the month, September to May, 7 p.m. at the Fireline Hotel, Bowmanstown.
