Lansford Council focused a good deal of attention last night on two concerns in the borough's west end, namely the sinkhole repairs and the stadium.

Following more discussion of the pros and cons of giving the stadium to the Panther Valley School District, a second motion passed on a 4-3 vote to give up the stadium only if certain stipulations are met.Councilman Louis Bales, Timothy Midas, and Joseph Olexy want to maintain the existing trust agreement the borough has with PVDS regarding the facility. Bales wants to keep it for the people of Lansford as a potential site for various sporting events, carnivals and festivals. Olexy said the PVSD claims it wants ownership to proceed with needed repairs, however, the district "has done little or nothing to repair (it to date)."
