Chestnuthill Township Solicitor Joesph McDonald stated he received a letter from Pocono Health System requesting a permit. PHS learned the DEP wants to do a nitrate test at the location of the proposed new health center off Rt. 209 in Brodheadsville. Steve Cunningham, PHS's vice president, said they were expecting to hear any moment that the testing had been done and was waiting to hear from DEP. Then the board approved 2-0 (Harry Miller was absent) a First Amendment to PHS's developer's agreement.

Bud Cook from The Nature Conservancy told the board that it would like to give a 115-acre parcel of land to the township. The land is protected property that was purchased with DCNR funds. The property is located off Rt. along Silver Valley Rd. and stretches to Kennel Rd."We're just authorizing the letter of intent to accept the property," said Supervisor chairman Chuck Gould.There will be a hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Chestnuthill Township municipal building for the cable franchise renewal with Blue Ridge Communications. Then immediately after that hearing, another hearing will be held for the Bush Lane vacate.
