A Schuylkill County motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash early today. State police at Schuylkill Haven said the accident occurred about 12:40 a.m. along SR61, between Coal Mountain Road and Laurel Drive, in West Brunswick Township.

Troopers said Christopher Evans, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2000 Harley Davidson Sportster northbound in a construction zone when he lost control of his bike.He laid the bike down on its left side and slid about 165 feet before coming to rest along the east berm. The bike continued another 1,030 feet before it came to rest on the east berm at the intersection with Laurel Drive.Evans was flown by Medevac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, troopers said.The investigation into the crash is continuing.
