Craft fair and sidewalk sale in Lansford Saturday

Lansford Alive will host its first craft fair and Downtown Merchants' Sidewalk Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, on Ridge Street in the borough's business district.

"We are looking for a great turnout and we hope to make this a yearly event," said Lansford Alive president Chris Ondrus. "We are glad businesses and merchants showed interest in taking part in this event."Lansford Alive member Donna Valent said she hopes the event would "brighten the spirit of Lansford."The day will feature old-time traditional folk music, food, and Buster the Clown.Vendors and craftspeople include Native American crafts, tools, Feed The People, Hillside SPCA, Avon, Mialisia jewelry, Geisinger Health Plan, hair bows and children's clothing, wind chimes and night lights, jewelry and Christmas ornaments.Food vendors will offer pulled pork, potato cakes, ribbon fries, and meatballs.Participating Ridge Street merchants and organizations include Silvers Used Book Store, Porvaznik's Flowers, Lone Wolf Collectibles LLC, Thankful Thrift Store, Grace Community Church, Rays Religious Icons, Blue Ridge Communications, The TIMES NEWS, Valley Athletic Supply and the Legion Riders.Riley Street merchants include Northeast Chemical and Pool Supply and Panther Valley Lumber.Tables can still be reserved by calling (570) 645-4833.
