Hurricane Liza's 130-mile per hour rampage through Mexico's Baja California peninsula killed more than 650 persons and state officials said today the toll could climb to 1,000.

Officials said they planned to set up tent camps to house some 40,000 persons left homeless by the disaster.Rescue workers dug bodies from under tons of mud and picked up floating corpses from the Pacific Ocean.The Juan Salvatierra Hospital reported that more than 650 bodies had been counted and that hundreds of persons were missing and feared dead."We believe the number of dead could reach 1,000," said state government spokesman Rogello Felix.
