To promote breast cancer awareness, Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club will sponsor its eighth Pink Light Walk on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Lehighton Recreation Center.

Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m., warm up is at 6:30 p.m., with the walk to follow.Participants will be walking from the Lehighton Recreation Center to the Lehighton Amphitheatre and back.All those participating are asked to wear a pink shirt to increase awareness of breast cancer.Angela Mims of Milford, two-time cancer survivor, will be the speaker for the event.Following the walk, light refreshments will be served and there will be a raffle.All funds raised will support the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.There is no charge to participate in the event.The Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club supports many Lions and community projects annually. The event will be held rain or shine.
