Preschool story hourThe Panther Valley Public Library, 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford, offers a free, preschool story hour every Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.Stories, snacks and activities are provided for the children.Summit HillFall tree plantingsThe Summit Hill Shade Tree Commission will be conducting its fall tree plantings along the borough streets and parks on Friday, Oct. 25 and Saturday, Oct. 26. Any borough residents or businesses interested in having a tree planted in front of their property may call John Kupec at (570) 645 9644 or Lou Vermillion at (570) 645-9772 for more information. Memorial trees will also be planted.Donations toward the cost of the trees will be accepted.Trees will be ordered in mid-October. Volunteers on the planting days are always welcome.Harvest Home SundaySt. Paul's Lutheran Church will celebrate Harvest Home Sunday on Sept. 29.Cash plate contributions will be donated to the Summit Hill food pantry.
