Thirty first-time offenders placed in probation program

Thirty first time offenders of non-violent crimes were admitted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) probation program by Senior Judge D. Michael Stine at hearings held in Schuylkill County Court.

If the defendants complete the probation program and meet all the costs and conditions, they can be cleared of the criminal charge.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Gabriel Santiago, 19, of 111 Lansford Court, Lansford, on charges of simple assault and harassment of a teenager in Tamaqua, assessed $350 assessment fee to defray cost of program, and perform 20 hours of community service.
