Rain doesn't halt festival at Mauch Chunk Lake Park

The seventh annual Heritage Festival was held Saturday at the scenic Mauch Chunk Lake Park located in Jim Thorpe.

The yearly festivals pays tribute to local coal mining heritage and include a number of bluegrass performances throughout the day and evening.Rain didn't stop spectators and performers from having a great time, as both chose to gather under a tent during the rain.In addition, a number of food vendors, crafters, and historical displays were featured. Children also enjoyed pumpkin painting and hayrides along the historic Switchback Trail.Mauch Chunk Lake Park is a county-owned park that earned recognition as the National Watershed of the Year in 1978.
