All invited to stand on their heads

They run, jump, flip, cartwheel and do the most amazing things with their bodies. They are gymnasts. And this Saturday, Sept. 21 they will be celebrating National Gymnastics Day.

Gymnasts, coaches, gymnastics clubs and fans will celebrate the sport by holding events nationwide to promote fitness and to highlight the impact of a healthy lifestyle through gymnastics for children and charity.Freedom Gymnastics will be host an Open House from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday at its location on Pilgrim Way, Brodheadsville, just off Rout 115 and across the street from the Western Pocono Community Library.You can tour the 14,000-square-foot facility and learn about its programs.There will be face painting and fundraising events taking place, with all donations to benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital.You will want to be there at 1 p.m. when everyone at Freedom Gymnastics and across the nation will "Turn the World Upside Down," by inviting others to stand on their heads, do a handstand, a cartwheel or anything that turns you upside down to celebrate National Gymnastics Day.For more information, call (570) 992-3733, email
