Jamie Robbins, 33, of Pottsville, is facing a charge of simple assault as a result of an incident that happened between 10:55 and 11:05 a.m. Sept. 15 at 70 S. Coal St., Port Carbon.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven batrracks said the victim is a 26-year-old female from Port Carbon.Police said the assault happened after a verbal argument turned physical, during which time it is alleged Robbins grabbed the victim by the throat, punched her in the side of the head and then kicked her in the left leg, resulting in it becoming black and blue and swelling.
