The Pennsylvania West Nile Control Program has announced that three more Carbon County mosquito samples have tested positive for the West Nile virus.

The report, released Tuesday afternoon, explains that the samples were collected from Jim Thorpe, Bowmanstown and Lower Towamensing Township. These were the fifth, sixth and seventh positive results in the county this year.A total of 70 mosquito samples were collected and 45 were tested to date.This makes a total of 1,141 mosquitoes and 22 birds that have tested positive for West Nile virus across the state.There have also been seven reported human cases reported: two in York County, one in Philadelphia County, one in Montgomery County, two in Delaware County, and one in Bucks County.
