Judith Allen, 56, of Tamaqua, is facing charges of theft by deception, receiving stolen property, and criminal conspiracy to commit theft following an incident at the Hometowns Commons Wal-Mart in Rush Township.

Township police said Allen allegedly removed a vacuum cleaner from a shelf at the retail store, then went to "return" it at the customer service desk, claiming to have lost the receipt. The vacuum was valued at $209.88.
