Local Boy Scout improves grounds of Dinkey church

A Boy Scout from Lehighton Boy Scout Troop 145, Lehighton, has helped improved the grounds of Dinkey Memorial Church, Ashfield.

Corey L. German, son of Greg and Lori German of Lehighton Boy Scout Troop 145 of Lehighton, who is working toward his Eagle Scout rank, coordinated and oversaw the installation of a new paver walkway at Dinkey Memorial Lutheran Church, Ashfield.The pavers were a project of this summer's Vacation Bible School, where the children put their handprints on the pavers with paint.Corey received help from Troop 145, Venture Crew 1347, and family members.Donations were made to the church by Ziegenfus Coal and The Service Team.The project was dedicated by the Rev. Anthony Pagotto and the dedication program was held Sept. 8, following the church service. The dedication was held in conjunction with Rally Day and was attended by church members. The day also included the installation of Sunday school teachers and the kick-off of the Sunday school year.Corey's Scoutmaster is Benjamin Glueck.
