Diabetes support

St. Luke's University Health Network is sponsoring a Diabetes Support Group. Monthly meetings are held in the Miner's Cafe at the health network's Miners Hospital Campus in Coaldale.Each month, a different diabetes relevant topic is explored. Topics are based on ways to improve blood sugar control and quality of life. Meetings are generally 45 minutes long and include a question and answer period.This month's meeting will be held on Sept. 17. Reservations are not required. This is a change in the schedule posted on the tax bills.Faith fellowshipThe Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network is participating in this year's "Back to Church Sunday," part of a national movement of churches across America, to be observed on Sept. 15.On Sept. 12, Tamaqua Mayor Chris Morrison issued a special proclamation in regards to Tamaqua's observance of Back to Church Sunday.National "Back to Church Sunday" is an initiative that is "Inviting America Back to Church."
